Reflection and Perception
Have you ever pondered deeply on your thoughts, emotions, and the events around you and what connection they have? I often do. It feels like there are two aspects of myself: one that acts based on my thoughts and emotions, influenced by external expectations, and another that acts with autonomy, driven by free will.
What if life was a journey of exploration and impermanence?
The reflection in the mirror can be a constant reminder. While attributing our experiences to external factors is tempting, ultimately, we are the common denominator in each experience. Our thoughts and emotions shape our decisions and outcomes. They reside within us, and what we see in the mirror reflects what is seen outside us and within this interplay.
What if your daily tasks were as simple as making your bed and setting the table? Rather than fixating on your to-do list, what if you focused on your personal experience in each moment? By doing so, you’d naturally build upon your desired experience, not anothers’.
What is your intention? Where is your attention directed?
Is it more fulfilling to feel good about how you spend your time or to expect satisfaction from the outcomes? Investing in how we experience life—where we have some control—holds greater value.
So, where do you give your power away?
